Watched Lord of the Rings 1 and 2 for the first time. There were quite a few similarities with Harry Potter. I think LOTR was written before HP. Shared concepts include The Dark Lord. Creature (Golum V Dobby). Middle Earth V Hogwarts. Four houses V elves, dwarves, humans, hobbits. A loyal ginger friend, lol. Gandolf V Dumbledore. Etc etc you get the idea. Hard to tell what is original any more.
